A World Premiere Digital Recording of the symphonic suites from the 7 most renowned and celebrated neo-realist milestones directed by Vittorio De Sica. An orchestra of more than 60 soloists and choir, conducted by Nicola Samale under the skillful supervision of De Sica's elder son the talented composer Manuel, plays exhaustive symphonic suites from the scores the late Alessandro ("Ulysses") Cicognini wrote for De Sica's Shoeshine, The Bicycle Thief, Umberto D, The Roof, The Gold of Naples, The Last Judgment and Miracle in Milan. Note that only The Last Judgement had been previously issued on record in the '60s: all the other scores are recorded here for the first time! A 12 pages boo-klet containing English notes, informations, posters and photographs adds further interest to this outstanding recording.
