In collaboration with Sugar Music, Music Box Records is pleased to present for the first time on CD the original motion picture soundtrack of Tais-toi quand tu parles (Zitto quando parli) composed and conducted by Armando Trovajoli.
Released in 1981, Tais-toi quand tu parles is often considered as the first film of director Philippe Clair's second period, a period dominated by the presence, in top billing position, of Aldo Maccione, at the time at the peak of his career in France (thanks to directors like Claude Lelouch and Pierre Richard). Beyond this, Philippe Clair's film was an enormous success at the box office in France. In addition to the presence of prestigious cinematographer Mario Vulpiani in the credits, Philippe Clair decided to work with the great composer Armando Trovajoli, faithful collaborator of Dino Risi (Scent of a Woman/Profumo di Donna, 1974) and, above all, of Ettore Scola (We All Loved Each Other So Much/C'eravamo tanto amati, 1974; Ugly, Dirty and Bad/Brutti, sporchi e cattivi, 1976). Famous for his 'Mediterranean humour', thus Philippe Clair very judiciously surrounded himself with a predominantly Italian team, particularly up to the task of giving shape to his craziest delirium, as cult director of La Grande Java (1970), Le Grand Fanfaron (1975) and Le Führer en folie (1973).
this World Premiere CD release has been fully remastered from the session tapes by Claudio Fuiano and includes an 8-page booklet with liner notes by Nicolas Magenham, discussing the film and the score. with an 8-page booklet featuring liner notes by Gergely Hubai who discusses the series, the film and the score. The edition is limited to 350 copies.
