Film's Storyline:
Commissioner Betti, after having captured two thieves, decides to leave Turin and goes to Milan. He is on the trail of a criminal gang whose head is one Salvatore Mancuso. Together with three other mobsters Mancuso hijacks a school bus and thus kidnaps the ten children on board. Helped by his friend, the good Commissioner Arpino, Betti succeeds in finding the hideout of the kidnappers but in order to obtain liberation of the hostages he is forced to let the evildoers escape. Later, Mancuso is found dead by the police, having been immolated in his car. Betti soon succeeds in catching two of MancusoÂ’s accomplices, and the third dies during a car chase. Now Betti wants to catch the big boss Jean Albertelli. He is convinced that Albertelli is the man who plotted the kidnapping of the school bus. Burdened by the especially difficult investigation the Commissioner uncharacteristically falls victim of a trap prepared by Albertelli; he is framed and falsely accused of a homicide. He is convicted and jailed. While in prison Betti finds succour in news of AlbertelliÂ’s gruesome death at the hands of another criminal.
