A 17-year old girl named Domenica Schlutzer comes to Rome to vacation at the home of the Ciocchietti family, a tight-fisted bunch. In order to recoup the money spent in giving the girl lodging, the family rents her out to the morally dubious inhabitants of the building. The girl happens to be a very intelligent escort, and gets involved in the world of politics. By the end of the story, she satisfies the desires of a powerful old man who dies during the act of making love. Just after his death, she discovers that the rich old man had actually fallen in love with her. The score for Ragazzi alla pari (1976), also known as The Best, was composed by the eclectic and skilled team of Silvano Chimenti and Enrico Pieranunzi. Because the various cues sound so different from one another, one might assume that they were chosen from a repertoire, but that would be incorrect. In truth, the myriad of situations in the film differ greatly in tone and mood, and the score reflects this variety by highlighting each of them individually. As a result, viewers create more lasting memories of each scene by listening to the score. For those who haven't seen the movie, it's easy to guess the situations the music is referring to by simply listening to the flavor of the music. Have a good listen! Gloria Guida, who played the character of Domenica, starred in many movies and exhibited remarkable sensuality. In fact, she was even voted Miss Teenager in the 70s. From watching this movie, one can easily guess why! This Italian sex comedy is uproariously funny, innocent, and full of nudity, a veritable cornucopia of entertainment that exemplifies the Italian comedy clichés of the time |
