Original 1970 private press in a very limited quantity. Line up consists in Franco D'Andrea, Eraldo Volontà, Bruno Biriaco and Sergio Fanni that skilfully mix hard bop, free and modal jazz. All of the tracks of this album are of high level quality, starting from the funky jazz version of the cue "Summit soul" by Jean Luc Ponty, than going through to "Ervo" by Erardo Volontè that interprets this autobiographic track with a great hard bop style. "Spanish Portrait" is a suite dedicated to Spanish jazz that fascinated a lot Italian Jazzists in that period (pedro iturralde), superb interpretation of the quintet in the track "Vision" (M.C. Coy Tyner).
