Roque Baños has composed the soundtrack of the special adaptation that Terry Guilliam has made of Don Quixote, based on the work of Miguel de Cervantes. Music of Spanish color, melodic and pleasant to listen on disk.
The British director explained about the music of the film:
Roque never cheats. He never never falls back on cliché or sentimentality. He goes straight for the heart... and if not the heart, the bone marrow, making the entire resonate. He can move us to tears, then set our hearts racing with dread, yet he is always ready to surprise us with wit and tenderness.
His musical mastery has emotionally sculpted our film with a mix of rich textures: exotic Moorish, ancient Christian, and even modern Hollywood but all filtered through the unique heart and soul of Spain.
